How do you use frozen fruit in the Ninja Creami?

The manual that comes with the Ninja Creami says that you cannot use frozen fruit in the machine.  This can be confusing because, technically, you can use frozen fruit in the Ninja Creami.  However, you have to follow a few rules when doing so.

DO NOT process frozen fruit or frozen fruit in liquid without first following one of the steps below. The Ninja Creami is not a blender and you should never process frozen fruit without freezing it in a Ninja Creami container first.

  • DO NOT use ONLY frozen fruit because there will be gaps in between the fruit and the Creami will struggle to process it.

  • DO NOT use ONLY frozen fruit and water (unless you blend it together before pouring it into a Ninja Creami container) because it will be like a block of ice when the Creami tries to process it.

  • Add the frozen fruit to liquid, cottage cheese, or yogurt and mix well so that the fruit is distributed throughout the mixture. Make sure there are no gaps of air between the chunks of frozen fruit.  It's best to blend the frozen fruit with the liquid and then pour it into the Ninja Creami container.

  • Thaw the fruit and add it to a base recipe before freezing. You can blend the thawed fruit with the base recipe and then pour it into a Ninja Creami container, freeze, and then process. Although, blending isn't always necessary.

  • Thaw and blend frozen fruit, pour into a Ninja Creami container, freeze, and process.

  • Make sure that the top of the mixture is level and no fruit is sticking out.
