The information provided below is for informational purposes only and is not a recommendation to change your regular diet.  Please consult with your physician before changing your diet.

When you make a Ninja Creami creation, you'll usually want to add some sort of sweetener, unless you are using all fruit.  Some ingredients, like protein shakes, yogurts, and flavored milks, already have sweeteners added in so you might not need to add additional sweetener.

When a recipe calls for sugar, you don't have to use as much (if you like things less sweet) and you don't have to use actual sugar.  You can use a sugar substitute.

Determining which sugar substitute to use is a personal decision and is based on the way you want the ice cream to taste and on your personal diet preferences.

The amount used is going to vary based on the recipe and the sweetener chosen.  If the sugar substitute is a 1:1 ratio with sugar, then you can use the same amount as you would if it were sugar.  But, if the sweetener is not a 1:1 ratio with sugar, you are going to have to experiment with different amounts.  Keep in mind that the desired sweetness from the sugar substitute itself will vary based on the other ingredients used.  For example, if you are using instant pudding mix, protein shakes, or fruit, you will likely need far less sweetener than you would if your recipe only has milk, cream, guar gum, and cocoa powder.

I highly recommend tasting all mixtures before freezing them to see if they are sweet enough.  Once frozen, the ice cream is going to taste less sweet, so add just a little extra to compensate.
